Bar Primi - Penn District

East Village’s Italian restaurant is now near Penn Station.

When I first moved to NYC, I would go to Bar Primi all the time before a big night out in the East Village. Especially in your 20s, you had to load up on all the carbs before a long night of booze and dancing. I have very fond memories at Bar Primi Bowery, so once I heard they opened a location closer to the west side, I was thrilled.

When I’m at any Italian restaurant, I usually opt for a pasta dish. This time, I went for their pappardelle with ragu bolognese and it did not disappoint. I also got there right when they opened for lunch, so my friend and I were able to snag a table outside on a gorgeous sunny day. If you need to meet someone for lunch who needs to catch a train at Penn Station, make sure to meet them at Bar Primi on W 33rd St and 9th Avenue!

If you want to visit Bar Primi, check out their website HERE.
